Really interesting post as London recently rejected the project to build a similar sphere in Stratford. I think it was the right call as based on your account this thing may work well in the middle of the desert but not within an actual city. Not to speak of the waste it generates... In any case, the cinema looks impressive just from that picture, I bet that was well worth it.
Interesting story...was planned for Stratford right next door to some residential flats but there was a campaign against it by the locals and the London Mayor said no. However, the housing minister, Michael Gove, was planning to overrule that decision - he can do that - but by then the owner said they were fed up with being messed about, and walked away.
Sounds like a giant version of the Disney Epcot Centre which I went to 20+ years ago, so my memory may be a bit fanciful.

Yeah i think it would be out of place in London. Especially the external LED’s, it doesn’t fit the city (yet!).

yes it looks similar, but like you say, a giant version!
I'd probably say it was wise to not build one in Stratford. but I'm sure they'll try again some day!
